Eligibility & Application Process

Eligibility Criteria

  • High school graduate by 2026
  • Current Whatcom County resident or student
  • Identify as a woman

Application Instructions

  • Attach a cover letter that addresses the following:
    • educational and career goals and objectives for the next two to five years
    • why you are interested in and deserving of this scholarship
    • your financial need
    • any additional information you would like the scholarship committee to consider
  • Attach a copy of your most recent quarter/semester unofficial transcript OR written documentation of acceptance to a post-secondary institution
  • Attach two recent letters of reference
  • Fill out the application completely
  • Application must be submitted no later than March 31, 2026
  • Scholarship applicants must be available for mandatory in-person interviews on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
  • NOTE:  Successful scholarship recipients will be required to volunteer a minimum of 10 hours with Whatcom Women in Business or another eligible non-profit as approved by the Scholarship Chair by August 31, 2026.
  • All personal and financial information provided in this application will be held strictly confidential and be used solely to determine scholarship eligibility.
